Excessive Blue/white Smoke On Start Up

Featured Replies

So i just had oil, oil filter and air filter change on my focus tdci 1.8 06 plate as it was smoking quite bad on start up..the above changes havent made any difference and the car still smokes excessively until its been running for a good few minutes and it shakes quite bad on tick over and almost dies unless some revs are given..is this going to be an expensive fix? is it likely an injector issue? any feedback would be greatly recieved.

Checked the glow plugs are all working? When I had a diesel I could tell when one 'went' as it would smoke and be lumpy on startup

Does this happen everytime on start up or just the first one in morning?

If it's only during the first start then possibly glow plugs.

Yeah seems to be first start up ..smoke is thick like the whole street can see it..someone said maybe an oil seal leak allowing oil to be burnt once the cars warm there no smoke..will try the glow plug route 1st see it that changes anything
