2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Rear Door Lock

Featured Replies

Hi,

My brothers 02 plate Ford Focus has an issue where the rear right door won't lock. All the other doors are fine and lock using the key fob, but the rear right doesn't do a thing.

It also won't let you manually lock it using the lock button inside the car (won't budge)

Does it need a new lock unit or could it be something more simple?

Thanks

Andy

Maybe I shouldn't have posted on a bank holiday monday when everyone is busy...

Haha - probably not bud, probably not

Have you tried squirting any penetrating fluid on the door bolt? Might just be seized

Saying that, you might be able to get a replacement unit from a scrappy for a few quid - give it a clean up before sticking it in.

Thanks for the reply Sean, I'll pass the info on to him! He needs to get the speed sensor replaced so may get them to do it while it's in for that.
