Strap Trapped In Boot Lock (Focus Style 2010)

Well isn't this just what the doctor ordered. I noticed the boot open warning message and discovered I had shut the boot onto a canvas strip. It will not budge at all. I have had someone press the boot open switch while I have pulled the strap and it still won't move a single micron. Is there anything else I can try? The strap isn't poking through the gap so I can't pull from the outside but I doubt that would make any difference.

Please give me credit for not saying the wife did it.

It's fixed!! I just gave the boot a really strong upward pull and it freed. Much relief.

I bet you wont do that again lol. Glad you sorted it!

I will try not to humiliate myself again Wes. Boot locks can be a pain. My last car was an Astra and the lock would occasionally jam even though nothing was caught in it. I used to flood it with WD40 and just wait. After a few weeks it would sponteously free itself.

Did you make sure the food shopping all had long sell by dates then just incase the Astra boot didnt open lol?

You could get into the boot via the back although it was like climbing up a chimney. Gave me an appreciation of the plight of sweeps' boys in Victorian England. By the way, I have proved Einstein wrong. He is quoted as saying the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. If he had seen me, sanity itself, pulling and wrenching that jammed boot hundreds of times he would have had to revise his theory.

Lol, you must be a genius too to put Einstein to shame! I wonder what else he was wrong about?:D

The Cosmological Constant?

The Cosmological Constant?

Someones been googling Einstein!!:D

Actually no. I just happen to know he said that was his greatest blunder, but with the more recent discovery of dark energy it may turn out that it wasn't.
