New Car Choice.

Featured Replies

I'm changing my car in March 2016.

Should I have a new Focus RS or an XF-R (second hand)

My heart wants both and I know if I have one I'll wish I brought the other.

Come on guys help.

Something lacking in the new RS, something perhaps gritty that has been lost from the Mk2, Its like they scaled the volume back from 11/10 to a more sensible 9/10. Don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with it but I'm not sure it should have that RS badge if you get my meaning. It just looks a bit "samey" compared to the others, but then perhaps that was the idea, make it more "normal" so more folk would buy it.

out of the two i would get the XF-R

I would go for the RS but change the wheels for something that looks as aggressive as the front end. Probably lose less money with the Focus too although if you can afford one in the first place thats probably irrelevant!

@Dee_82 I know what you mean. I have a MK3 ST3 now and I feel the facelift has blended the in.

I really want to love the new RS but sort I find myself forcing it a little.

BUT...... It will not look like a TDI where as the XF will until you see the R badge.

I agree aggressive wheels would help.

r.s all day long for me

I would go with the RS as well. Great looking car for a new RS generation. I know some people will and won't like it but you gotta move with the times lol!

Do you think the RS has more road presence?

Not with the standard wheels on it! Take them off straight away and wrap them up in the garage for safe keeping and fit some new ones that suit the car better!

Try asking the same question on the XF forum... ;)

Personally, having driven neither I'd go for the Jag...
