Whistle Noise When Idle/accelerating 1.6 Tdci

Featured Replies

Hi there. Im new to this forum so sorry if this is in wrong place or whatever. Anyway, Over the past week there was a new noise to my car. Its a 2010 ford focus zetec 1.6 tdci. It started to make a whistle noise when cars idle and when you touch the accelerator you hear it more it sounds as though its coming from fan belt area i think. Also when idle the car vibrates a little i wonder if its all connected onecway or another. Its booked in for a mot and service in a weeks time so will mention to them. Any ideas what it could be. Much appreciated

A squeal is usually related to a slipping fan belt and a whistle usually related to a turbo without hearing it it's hard to say could you possibly post a video on. Here so we can hear the noise then we might be able to help you more
