O1113_P
Hi all, Thought I would ask around on here regarding a niggle I have had with my Black edition Zetec S since purchase. Upon picking up the vehicle new in December I noticed a rather irritating rattle/metallic sound when accelerating. This only tends to happen in low revs until the turbo kicks in. I took it back to the ford dealer who insisted that was a typical 3 cylinder sound..... I'm still not entirely convinced that this is the case. Don't get me wrong I love the car but this is one niggle that is really beginning to irritate me! It sounds worse than most 10 year old 3 cylinder engines. I would appreciate anyone else with a Ecoboost ZS hearing/not hearing this same monotonous irritating noise letting me know whether this is the norm. If so then I fear the next 18 months of ownership could put me at risk of serious mental afflictions possibly causing horrific injury to myself and the car. MattDRX
Why not just get it checked by Fraud if it's so concerning? no one on the internet can diagnose it for you, but yes they do sound a bit rattly, it's just a 3Cyl Ford Engine after all. O1113_P
Hi thanks for your response. I'm not looking for people online to 'diagnose' this. I'm merely asking people with a 1.0 Ecoboost to advise whether they experience this also. It has been to Ford they have said they couldn't find anything wrong so this is more just confirmation that I'm not the only one experiencing this.
