Mk2.5 Focus 1.8Tdci Exhaust

Featured Replies

I am looking at making my own stainless system but was wondering what bore pipe to go with? 2.5" or 3"?

Also since I am removing the cat and DPF? I'll need to get a remap to remove?

Thanks in antcipation

Darren

If you have a 1.8 TDCI you won't need to worry about a DPF as it doesn't have one :D

Cheers for that, what size bore pipe? I'm more inclined to go 3"

3" will be too much (i think subaru's have that size), stick to 2.5"

straight through pipe will do the job but you may have an issue come MOT time if there is no 'visible' cat!

oh and enjoy the whistling sound it will create - i hope you have deleted the EGR too.

I didn't think 3 was needed on this size of engine, I'm sure I read 2.5 is plenty for the amount of power you will ever get out of this thing, and I think the turbo requires some amount of back pressure too.

I cant find it now but I'm sure one of the chaps on hear had worked out that 2.5 was plenty and any bigger might not have a positive effect

Sweet 2.5" it is and will be putting in a jetex silencer but it's high flow so shouldn't zap too much

keep us posted with updates and plenty of pics then!
