Timing Belt Kit & Water Pump Price Supply & Fit ?

Featured Replies

Hi

Intending to have the Timing Belt & Water Pump changed on the Focus 1.6 2005

Any one have an idea of costs involved would be having it done in Glasgow, probably at an independent .

Thanks

ian

I can get parts for about 100 quid, ford belt and tensioners and ford motorcraft waterpump

Labour at my garage is about 2 to 3 hours, so 100 to 150. all in, 200 to 250

Thanks Dee_82

Will probably pick up the parts myself. So just need to get them fitted. That seems a reasonable price for parts and labour

Hope i can find something similar

Regards

Ian

The Garage I use isn't that far from you, Morefield motors In Killie

They have done quite a bit for me and ive never had any bother, they tend to be a little more pricy but I feel a bit more comfortable paying it given they run their own racing team as well, they presumably know their stuff and its not as pricy as ford! Speaking of which, I got a tyre from them the other day, apparently they didn't know the meaning of the word torque, just goes to show that "Ford" isn't always giving you better service.

I had actually just spoke to ford and they were going to charge well over 300 quid. Bugger that. Even parts from ford were 170 plus vat and labour, ive got genuine ford parts from Germany on their way. 98 quid, plus another 12 for an aux belt, figured they were talking it off anyway so may as well.

Just be aware that some garages will not accept parts you supply, also you may not get a warranty for the work with customer supplied parts.

Thanks again Dee

Killie is my Home Town but haven't lived their in many years.

My Stepson works for East Ayrshire Council as a mechanic so possibly could ask him to buy the parts from ford direct

might save a bit on that .

I was under the impression that if the parts were genuine oem then their would be no problem warranty wise

but I stand to be corrected

Ha, well your not missing much, the gradual decline into oblivion continues!

Yeah, they will fit anything Stef, their a good bunch. That's a good question about warranty though, ill need to ask them, I suppose it opens up a can of worms if the part fails, was it the work done or the parts used...
