05 Ford Focus 1.4 Lx Engine Light Fault

Featured Replies

hello all

new to the forums, iv been trying to search the forums but cant find what im looking for about this engine light that flashes every now and then , iv looked up other places and its leading me to think its water in the plugs, as iv been told its a common problem with the focus , because the cost of a main dealers in Ireland is a joke, i thought a little research and some guidance i might be able to fix it myself ,

so before i buy new plugs to start with, can i get some advice ,

am i wasting my time ? or should i just bring it the main dealer ?

could it be the leads and coil need to be replaced as well with the plugs ?

any help , advice , or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated .

thank you for your time in reading my post

Can you borrow a code reader and see if any fault codes are logged? If not you can buy one on ebay for under £20 which will read most codes before you start buying parts. Checking and cleaning the plugs would be an easy free start though.
