Hi All,

Got in my Focus about an hour and a half ago and the engine light was on.

The problem was that when I was at low speeds i.e. 5 - 20 mph and not accelerating the car was shaking quite a lot.

When going faster it doesn't happen?

Does anyone know what this could be?

Coil pack leads plugs are a good place to start

First place i would always start would be to buy or borrow a fault code reader (under £20 on ebay) and see what codes have logged so you have a starting point. It can get very expensive very quickly if you start replacing random parts trying to find the problem. Obviously things like checking spark plugs and leads does not cost anything and could well be worth looking at.

Problem with coils and leads is they don't leave a code but it is a good start

Hi everyone thanks for your replies. Turns out it is the lambda sensor which is causing the problem. Also I need a new clutch too :/ Wonder what else lol. On a Focus is it usual to have a biting point right at the top? Causes me to rev quite a lot to get it going at a good speed?
