FiestaGirl89
Hey guys! Just recently after locking up my car I've noticed that the radio doesn't turn itself off and it all stays illuminated. I've tried turning it off and it doesn't do anything. I know it can turn itself off after an hour so I left it and it's still on hours later Any ideas on what this might be?? I've read a few forums online with the same problem but none say anything to help me with this. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want it to drain my battery Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

jbell
Is it the stock radio or an aftermarket one? If it's aftermarket are you powering it from the 12v supply? If its stock -- is it just the display with the time showing?
FiestaGirl89
It's a stock radio and it's the screen and all the buttons that won't turn off. A few random times the radio hasn't gone off either but main the lights. I took the fuse out last night but had to put it back in as the heaters stayed on full blast. When I put it back in it went off but I'm worried it's going to happen again and the fact that my cars all lit up at night Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
jbell
Sounds like you might have a pretty serious electrical issue. If your car is still under warranty -- I'd take it to the dealer. If not - one thing to try: turn off the car, disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for a couple of minutes. Then reconnect the battery.
FiestaGirl89
Ok I'll try that as it's not in warranty anymore. I'll let you know how I get on! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
tero521
Do your interior lights turn on when you open the door and then turn off normally? Can the problem be broken door switch?
FiestaGirl89
Everything else is working fine just the lights on the radio and screen. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

mikeb900
I have the same issue and believe that it is a relay thats sticking. when you turn the ignition off the radio stays on and as soon as you open the door the stereo should go off. I am trying to get my hands on a wiring schematics so I can try and see how the logic works that will control the stereo and interior lighting that when it comes on from opening the door, should turn the stereo off. If I can get my hands on a wiring diagram, I will try it, and report back on here to help others.
unofix
No relays involved, all controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM) which is part of the passenger compartment fusebox assembly.
