Focus St Tdci Rattle?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I purchased a brand new Focus ST-2 TDCi (185ps) around 3 weeks ago. On my way home from work today I got to a roundabout where I thought someone near me had a poorly muffled exhaust, but when the traffic cleared it turned out it was me. I'm now obsessed with a rattle from the engine at low revs & idle that I hadn't noticed at all before. I don't know if it was perhaps there all along and this time the radio happened to be quiet enough that I finally noticed it, or if it has only just started happening. With the engine at idle and the bonnet open it sounds to me like a component is vibrating or rattling against another. It's done around 1500miles so it's well bedded in. Any advice on this would be great because it will be Saturday before I can take it in and it's doing my head in.

Thanks all.
