I am from Essex looking to rent a car for a weekend does anyone know any car hire companies that accept 20 year olds?

    There is one currently in Croydon, they were on Watchdog last week though, hiring out cars that were MOT fails and having it in the agreement your excess is a whopping 1750 squids and then charging you for the damaged vehicles, run by a convicted fraudster with 7 identities iirc.

    but generally no you'll struggle, it's a min 21 with a young driver surcharge, generally this charge is more than the rental fee on small cars.

    I think there are some dealerships that do 1-2 day test drives lol, so if they aren't bothered by your age you could try that. Somehow I think you might not get anywhere with that though.
