Noisy Engine When Cold

Hi, I've got a 09 focus 1.6 petrol with only 34k, but when you start it up from cold, it sounds like a diesel, once warm, its nice & quiet, I've recently given it a magnatec oil change hoping to cure this, but no joy!, can anybody help please

    Haha, that's just a characteristic of ye old Duratec engine, nothing to worry about. Mine is also rough & sounds like that when cold - it sounds 'tappety'. Once warmed up properly, it is noticeably smoother/quieter.

    They are quite reliable engines, provided you service it regularly.

    EDIT: This is assuming you have the 100PS engine, and not the 115PS Ti-VCT.
