Drl Going Of.

Featured Replies

Hi just rewired my drl today so now wired red to positive of battery black to earth on body and white to main dipped beam. All working great come on when car started go of when dipped on. Only problem is when I turn the wheel they go of and on. Any ideas please.

Most likely is a break in the wiring try jiggling the loom a bit while they ate on and see what happens....the wiring is so thin it doesn't take much either that or one of the connections isn't tight

Yeah thought of that but this is ehat they were like the very first time I wired thrm up. So been running them so thry on all the time but have now tried to do thrm again so they go of with main beam. Thinking possible dodgy relay.

To be honest relay wouldn't explain why when you steer they go off do you have the electro hydraulic steering?

To be honest im not to sure. Was thinking it coild be that. I have a mk2 1.6 tdci not sure what type steering it has.

It has the sport setting etc? If so its electro hdraulic you don have cornering headlights do you

No don't think so. I have no settings for the steering.

All sorted they only go of when steering reaches full lock.

Suspect if you take white wire off they will work fine. Sounds like either the steering pump is making a huge load on the electrics, or you have a short into the adaptive headlight wiring (even if the lihghts are not fitted)

Put the white wire on the parking lights instead

Its ok thry only go off when at full lock. They are much better yhsn thry were and its not thst often full lock is used.
