Ford Focus Engine Knock

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a 2006 focus 1.6 petrol 64k millage it has developed a engine knock it's coming from the cambelt area more noticeable when the engine is revved is it bottom end bearings or crankshaft damper pulley here is a link to the video thanks in advance https://youtu.be/cufGvKIgDYk

Sounds like bottom end bearings but could also be a duff tensioner

Only tensioner on it is the cambelt tensioner witch I fitted a new cambelt kit around 500 miles ago. I heard that the crank shaft pulleys make the same noise the knock only seems to be there once the engine is up to temp

The bottom end will knock as the oil thins when the oils cold irs thicker masking the noise have it properly diagnosed as it could be anything really crappy fuel can cause this in some cars low oil even a failing oil pump
