The Kn Filter Difference

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i've got a 2011 ford fiesta 1.6 and have been on about fitting a KN air filter for ages but never got round to do it. but before i go ahead and do it i'd thought i would ask the question.

do they actually make a difference or would you only notice the difference in your STs etc

many thanks

The days of any major differences between performance filters & stock / O.E.M.ones are long gone, any b.h.p. gain will be barely noticeable & some oiled ones can interfere with M.A.F. sensor operation.

Not worth it i.m.o.

I asked the same question a few weeks back (was thinking of getting K&N kit) bust was advised by the majority not to bother.

I have the Pipercross air filter on my car. £50 quite happy with it, added with a blank plate car picks up nicely also helped with MPG slightly. Should last the life of the car if i remeber to clean it every year.
