Cd Changer

Featured Replies

What would be a good CD changer for my Mk 1 Focus . Any suggestions please ?

If you have an original Ford radio you can only use the original Ford CD-changer and wiring.

The original focus MK1 radio's (and also the Blaupunkt MP3 and Travelpilot DX radio's produced for Ford) do communicate by the Ford SCP protocol. These radio's can only communicate with the original CD-changers.

Back in the days there were a few aftermarket manufacturers (for example Sony) which also produced CD-changers which were compatible with the original Ford radio's. However these CD-changers were very expensive and are extremely rare.

Note that the newer Ford models (from the Focus MK2) have a different type of CD-changer. The newer Ford models have a CANbus controlled CD-changer which is not compatible with the old SCP protocol.
