Elm327 Question

Featured Replies

I have recently brought a mk6 automatic fiesta and I am wondering if the elm327 will work on it? It worked on my focus and works on my mk4 mondeo.

Can't seem to find much information and haven't had any replies on talk Ford so I've come here to ask.

Many Thanks

Ryan

As far as I'm aware it doesn't work on the mk6 fiesta as I wanted to use it for a few things

Only works on the Focus platform I'm afraid.

Arh bugger I thought that might be the case as I'm sure there isn't a cun-bus system on it. I thought I may be able to change a thing or two. Can I still use the cable for fault codes. If so what program/s will I need to have a look? Or am I better off just buying a cheapy ready from flebay?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I use a £5 bluetooth adapter on mine and it works fine for most things, when I require really in depth diagnostics I borrow a unit

Oh right ok. Where did you get the adaptor from? I would look on flebay but as there are so many I don't know which one will be good and what app to download for my HTC.

Many Thanks

Ryan

On my HTC one M8 I use "touchscan" its amazing to put it simply. So many features such as speed tracking, live engine virtual dashboards etc. Fault code display and clearing. Mpg calculations and lots more! I'll get you a link to the adapter I use now!

Only works on the Focus platform I'm afraid.

Sorry mate I got my wires crossed there. Yes it will work. Only the modded elms work on the Focus.

Should work fine,i have modded elm and normal and all work fine on my laptop and my fiesta 2011.

Modded elm just gives more options on some programs but not all programs support it.

This is through u.s.b as i have a spare laptop with all car stuff on.

before i bought my IDS i had a modded elm did alot more than just a Elm still worth getting for basic diagnostics

For just code reading/reset ( basic stuff ) i have one of them cheap hand held things £9 off ebay so i had 2 a few years ago.

Great little tool for the price.

Does the modified elm 327 with forscan work on mk7 2010 fiesta 1.6 tdci zetec s?  Thanks in advance, and if so any links for the modded elm 327 off ebay?

The modded elm327s don't work on the Fiesta if your after changing settings.

Mine works on my 2011 petrol on Forscan, and a few other Free software.

I flick the switch and get a few other things pop up when it scans on Forscan,
