Cam Belt Or Cam Chain, And When To Replace

Hi folks sorry if this has been done before I've just joined and just bought a immaculate fiesta finesse 5dr 1.4 tdci on a 03 plate ,my question is it has 74,000 0n the clock and i'm unsure as to whether they are cam chain or belt ,whichever it is how long before replacement ??? many thanks and apologies again if this has been done before ,i'm after a quick response to set my mind at rest ,

Its belt and change interval on that age of fiesta is 150k or 10 yrs whichever is sooner, so hopefully its been done 2 years ago

Your not. And I wouldnt risk it, get it done, buying from garage or private sale, can you contact previous owner?

might be able to if I can get the address of former keeper from registration document and go see him etc

All you need to know is the Reg plate. Then ETIS will generate a document telling what to replace or service and when in mileage and year intervals

What does et us say about our 1.0 ecoboost engines as regards timing belt. Are they truly for life like they say ? Or does life have a figure ?
