hi i have a 2008 1800cc petrol focus ,when you start to put your foot down gently on throttle pedal nowt happens then it suddenly comes in ,also when driving when you take your foot off lets say at 50mph it takes a second or two before any reaction bit scareyi think they call it throttle hang up

but wots causing it to happen

    on my old car (Golf) this was caused by a sticking idle speed control valve and was cleared by undoing the valve and leaving it in cleaners overnight.

    not sure how it is with the focus but someone with more knowledge will come along soon

    do you have access or know anyone with an obd/fault code reader to see if there any codes stored?
