My First Project

Featured Replies

Hi there, just took delivery of my first project!!!!!!! She is a 96 escort masquerade 1.6 for the princely sum of 370 quid! It's only done 67000 miles. Hopefully i won't find it full of rot when i start stripping it so fingers crossed. I like driving something different and this fits the bill perfectly. Got a few ideas on what to do with it but think i will keep it originalish.

Welcome to the site! I miss my 95 & 98 Escort Si's!

What mods have you got planned? I would fit the GTi side and rear skirts, front bumper with fogs, 16" Mondeo 5 spoke alloys (the larger version of 15" GTi wheels), rear boot spoiler and lower it 40mm for that modified but still factory looking effect! Thats just what i did to my Si's.:)

Hi welcome :)

Was thinking about lowering it but not by much Wes and putting some mk5 rs2000 alloys on. Got to sort the rot first though, took the rear bumper off and found it on the inner arches. Got any pics of your Si's for inspiration?

Dont fit the polished mk5 RS2000 alloys, they are a pain to keep looking mint as the lacquer peels. The RS2000 painted mk6/7 ones are fine though. The Mondeo Si 16" 5 spokes really look the part as they are a bigger version of the standard 15's. I only have old real photographs sorry and dont have a scanner.

These are the wheels i mean, they look great with 195/45/16 tyres and a 40mm suspension drop. Im sure mine were only 6.5 wide though as there were 2 widths at the time.

Thanks for that mate, any suggestions are very welcome.

Wow looks nice! Be great to see it resorted and kept standard, they'll be classics in a few years. :)
