Buying oils from europarts just 5 mins down the road from me along with other stuff, is there really any difference betweenValvoline engine oil fully synthetic 5w30 priced at £33.99 and Triple QX fully synthetic 5w30 priced cheaper at £19.99 both 5 ltrs ?

Also looking to replace gearbox oil which I think will be first time since new, I notice in Haynes manual it says gearbox oil capacity 2.0 ltrs (approx) . You would think manuals could know the exact amount instead of giving a approx figure.

Should I buy 3 ltrs of gearbox oil ?

    I would check autodata for you if I was in but Castrol say 5.6 litres for engine oil and 2.6 litres for gearbox

    not sure which gearbox is on the 1.8 but the MTX75 on the 1.6 is as simple as filling until it comes out.
