Mr165 update

Just curious on whether anyone has receive an email from mountune about an update ?

I have the Mr 165 already but not sure what this update is all about ? If anyone could enlighten me that would be great lol

I'm confused aren't all ecoboosts fiesta's in the UK (and europe), euro6 compliant cars? according to their site it shouldn't work with our cars but a comment/review left today states the new update allows it to work with euro6 cars. So good news for all if it does, but carr-92 I'm guessing it was working already for you? How much of an improvement already was it over standard?

I got that too.

Will be updating the handset later and report back with an update ;)

This newsletter will be used to supply the mountune mTune users with all the latest news, information and updates for their handsets and upgraded vehicles.

mTune Handset Updates

Please find below details of the latest firmware and software updates for your mTune handset.

Not all updates will apply to all vehicles/handsets, however the Accessport Manager will automatically determine the correct level of update for your application.

MR Handset Firmware Update

Firmware Level - AP-FMR-001 - Release 1.7.2.0-10502

Firmware update for all MR handsets. Update includes bug fixes and added features.

Please note: Not all upgrades/vehicle platforms will include added features

Details of how to download the Accessport Manager and carry out the update can be found below.

Software/Firmware Update

In addition to notifying you of new mTune upgrades, we will also use this Newsletter to keep you informed of software/firmware updates that may be applicable to you.

These updates are very simple to download. You simply plug your handset in to your computer using the USB lead supplied with your handset, and open the Accessport Manager program (Details on how to download this program can be found below).

Once your handset is connected, click the tab at the top of the page that says 'Updates'.

If the tab has a red triangle on it, as seen in the image above, then there is an update available for your handset.

If you then click on the "Begin Firmware Update" button on the top right of the page, your download will automatically download and install.

Do not unplug the handset or switch off your computer until the download has completed and your handset has restarted.

It is very unlikely that you will ever need to update the software calibration on your car, instead the updates generally refer to the operation of the handset itself if it is being used for information display or shift light.

mTune Accessport Manager

If you wish to download the Accessport Manager to your computer, you can find the link on the mountune website - www.mountune.com

Click on the 'Services' tab to open the drop down menu, then follow the 'Performance Upgrades' arrow, followed by the 'mTune' arrow, and then finally the 'Support' tab - as shown in the image above.

This will bring you to the mTune Support page.

If you then click on the 'Firmware Updates' tab, you will see the two downloads icons.

Select the icon relevant to your computer, i.e. Windows based or MAC based, and your download will start.

Simply follow the on-screen instructions and you're ready to go!

Infield Updates

If you wish to upgrade your existing mTune handset from an MP calibration to an MR, then the details below will guide you through the process.

Firstly you need to check if your vehicle has an MR upgrade available. This information can be found either at www.mountune.com or www.mountunestore.com.

When you purchase the upgrade you will be required to send the identification number of your handset to mountune.

To find this, you will need to connect your handset either to your computer or your car to power-up the unit.

In the main menu, scroll all the way to the top and select the 'Help' option.

In the next menu, scroll up to the top and select 'About Accessport'.

Then scroll down the page and record the Original Serial Number and the Serial Number Sticker number.

Send these two numbers along with your full name and online store order number in a email to [email protected]

You will then receive a reply email with a file attached - Please note this can take up to two working days.

Once you have received the email, download the attached file to your desktop.

Open the Accessport Manager - Details on how to download this can be found above.

Select the 'Options' tab

Select the 'Advanced' button at the bottom of the menu.

Click on the 'Change Accessport License' button and select the download file from wherever you saved it to previously.

Your handset will then automatically convert itself in to an MR handset.

Next, click the 'Updates' tab in the top menu and click on the 'Begin Firmware Update' button on the top right.

Your handset will now download the new MR calibration.

Once the download has completed and the handset has restarted, click the 'Eject' button and unplug the handset from your computer.

You are now ready to upgrade your car!
