I have a mobius camera and looking to replace it with one with a screen in a 2013 Ford Focus, any suggestions or recommendations on which to buy or which ones to avoid.

I have done a review of a couple, I quite like the gs8000l for the screen but the mobius quality is a bit greater.

Just fitted two of these to my Mondeo and the Mrs Meriva.

Good quality 1080p 30fps recording with plenty of bells and whistles.

Sadly I think the halfords are far too overpriced... But they seem to be the gs8000l In a slightly different style but with a massive price hike lol

I agree that the Nextbase is more expensive but having looked at vids on youtube there seemed to be a better quality to the motion and image quality compared to the gs8000l, and having compared a few night time vid's there is a huge difference.

402g motion is smooth (my own camera in the Mondy)

gs8000l motion seems jumpy

That said, I've not got 1st hand experience with the gs8000l and can only go on vids I've seen. It's quite possible these vids I found are just the poor exceptions.

You do get better quality I can't deny that, but the question of quality over cost unfortunately is an issue imho

Oh I agree, the cost of the camera's is stupidly expensive for what they are and has thankfully come down in recent years/months, unfortunately with a background in IT and then in AV I've always looked for the best quality I could afford when it comes to tech and gadgetry. The only way I could justify it is seeing them as an investment that could potentially save me or the Mrs an expensive incident, especially as the Mrs was nearly in the middle of a pile up and I was an unhappy participant in what seemed like a cash for crash attempt a couple of weeks earlier.
