17 Ich Zetec S Alloys. ( Steering Rack Limiter)

Hi everyone I just purched the 17 inch alloys from a 2014 zetec s and fitted them there don't seem to be any scrubing of tyres and arch. But do I really need to fit the steering rack limiter. All suggestions and coments would be appriciated. Thanks

    The originals was 195 45 16 and the new 1s are 205 40 17

    Tyre width is 10mm more but radius ratio on new ones is less so rims plus tyres won't be much more.

    TBH as the width is 10mm more you may have increased risk of rubbing on full lock but only very slightly.

    I say fit them and check clearance on full lock to be sure.

    Just finished putting them on and on full lock seem a bit tight but not rubbing will these be ok now or should I fit rack limiter? Thanks

    You'll know after driving the car.

    If you feel any rubbing or see signs of rubber transfer on the arches then yes but I think you'll be ok.

    Ford fit limiters to cars specified with 17 inch wheels. Why wouldn't you?

    Wel pick up steering rack limiter today then got it fitted at elites in rainam 48 pound. So I thought best to be on safe side.
