hardmonkeys
As some of you may know I've bought a focus for £50 off my sister, http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/72413-hey-saving-a-car-from-the-scrappy/ It is a mess!! Inside and out, I'm looking to remove the seats and carpets to give it a deep clean best I can, In regards to front seats, it's it the same as any other car, remove battery before disconnecting air bag wires? Any help would be great Thanks

Lenny
Thank you both!! Thats great This is after a vacuum... Loads better Looks good, Now's a good time to run in any cables such as power for a sub, rca's for an amp or cable for rear footwell lighting, While you have the car stripped.
Stoney871
Looking far more sanitary than the initial photos for sure. Amazing what a touch of spit and polish can achieve. I bet the car is thanking you in it's prayers :d

hardmonkeys
I spent most the weekend drinking beer whilst cleaning the interior of the car, it's not perfect but it's a lot better than it was before I started Still a long way to go yet, but it's 100 times better in my opinion and it doesn't smell anymore..we, my wife and I used, very hot water, Autoglym Interior cleaner with a splash of arial laundry cleaner, then steam cleaned it with Rug Doctor diluted down...seems to have worked a treat, we will keep doing this regularly to continue the major clean This WILL be a nice car

Lenny
Looks great, If it was mine id fit some led strips to the inside of those cup holders at the bottom side facing forwards, Mark up and drill three little holes for the led strip to shine in to the cup holder, Fill holes with clear silicone to prevent leaks, Then anytime you put a bottle of water in the holder or coins they will be illuminated completly by the shadow of light yet no leds are visible even when the cup holder is empty theres just a shadow of light :) See Guide: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/28100-guide-to-fitting-smd-leds-to-cup-holder/

chrisroberson99
I'm looking forward to seeing the results! I really hope in a few years I can do the same, I'd love a T reg red focus and restore it, then keep it as my second car indefinitely. My mum says one day when she has a garage I can keep it in there! Good luck, it'll be worth it in the end. :)
hardmonkeys
Thanks for your kind replies, I work very odd hrs (2am starts urghhh) so that means early bedtimes, don't get much chance in the week, I will be attempting some bits though. I am enjoying this, and now the missus is involved. So it should be sorted asap

hardmonkeys
I gave the car a very quick wash yesterday, just to see what was under the grime...it does need another through clean! It's almost like it needs grit wash, you know we use swarfega for our hands to scrub the grime off, many ideas what I could use with out damaging the paint work...
