I got some sheet lightning photographs last night but did not catch any fork lightning. This hit Derbyshire around 3am:

Had a combo of both sheet/fork lightning in the distance last night, then directly overhead with an explosive crack of a strike in the immediate area, followed by the distant flashing as the storm passed over in less than 5 minutes.

The coolness of the air was the best part though :D

Was unrelenting for a time. Rain came down so intense we had flash flooding and water running through our garage and store room/outbuilding (attached to the house). Took the electrics out as the freezer had an inch of water round it which got into the electrics.

Then there was a power cut from about 2am to 4am. Didn't get much sleep last night, ended up mainly sleeping from about 4 when power came back up till nearly 10am, lol.

Spent most of today helping to clean out the garage and debris and other "remnants" left behind when drains are overwhelmed.

I managed to get some. Was only good for two catches, not bad for a mobile. All taken on same setting but one came out black n white ????

Was in south Bedfordshire. 00:15-03:00

I have just wasted 2m32s of my life!-_- That was the worst video i have ever seen lol, I kept tapping my screen thinking it had gone off due to it being all black. I cant see you getting an oscar for that to be honest!

I really dont recommended using a hammer in the dark either!:D
