Question For Unleaded Owners

Featured Replies

Weirdly while fuel prices were high my fiesta mk6 ( sold in March ) was getting 45mpg but when prices went down I got 38 mpg. Changed plugs, leads, filter and O2 sensors, still 38 mpg and I always use She'll from the same garage!

Russ, was the variation in mpg seasonal? I suspect that slightly different mixtures of hydrocarbons are used in winter and summer.

correct me if i am wrong but isn't 95 ron called premium unleaded with 91 ron standard unleaded and 97 ron super unleaded. so based on this ford are recommending we use the cheap stuff at the pumps.

You're probably right mate.

No, premium is 95. Super is 97 plus.

Exactly. Premium is standard unleaded in the UK.

If its standard unleaded how come I get a lot more miles out of it

What is the RON rating on standard unleaded? I beat the answer will be 95RON ;)

My Mountune'd ST pinks occasionally on standard fuel.

No problem with the more expensive stuff.

Dunno about MPG really. It's to variable according to how far I plant my foot.
