Eml Code P2002

Featured Replies

Hi, wondering if I could get some advice please?

I have a 59 plate tdci 2.0 mondeo the eml has came on, had it tested and the code p2002 comes up so dpf. Had the light removed, taken the car for 5 minute drive high Rev, lots of black smoke appeared which I assumed was good due to it cleaning.

Only then the Eml appeared again, tested again and same code.

We've checked all pipes which are fine!

AA say the dpf has lived it life because my cars done 110,000 so this needs changing.

Local garage want £240 to regen it?

Thanks all.

yeah the DPF can be a bit flaky, depending on if its a ceramic or not. Around 2009 / 2010, they upgraded the DPF's from standard shelf life ones to a ceramic DPF. So the first thing to find out is which you have, though I suspect you will probably have the standard one. They used to last around 60k oin average, some lasted double, others lasted about 40k
