Hot Front Discs?

Featured Replies

There's always something....

Noticed since I had the brakes bled, that the front discs seem to be getting really hot, happened to notice it when got tyres balanced the other day.

Any ideas? Or am I just getting paranoid about my old ford?

(I drive pretty conservatively too)

front disks will always be hotter after use than the rears, as they take the most braking force. If you drive around without touching the brakes and stop with the handbrake or whatever and check, if the disks are hot it would suggest brake bind, which could be the piston or caliper needs tweaking or replacing.

Nice idea, thanks. Will try that at the weekend.

Had a new rear brake cylinder recently too, but that shouldn't affect the front?

Shouldn't do no.
