So I find that even with my traction control fully "off" that when I plant my foot it still cuts the power and dies on me sometimes, is there any way of turning the traction control fully off?

    No, certainly in first gear the revs are limited to about 4k when stationary. It's not a car for "burn outs".

    Besides when it says the traction control is off its only partially off its never fully off. The 4k limiter is to prevent damage to the gearbox because of the engines torque it would snap a driveshaft if it didn't have that limiter. In addition to that the gearbox has torque limiters in 1st 2nd and reverse to stop the same thing and to prevent premature wear of the gearbox
