Bought my car a couple of weeks ago, the tax is £30 on it. I gave the dealer £30 to so the tax and got a receipt for it from the dealer, I checked online and the vehicle is now showing up as taxed. I thought I was fine, but my mate reckons that I'm driving untaxed and risking my license being revoked because someone else can't tax a car on my behalf. Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Anyone with the V5 can tax your car, dealer would of taxed your car & then sent it to the dvla.

    This is what happened with my motor, you'll receive your new V5 soon.
