The only possible downside is that the EML may iIluminate, which is solved by using a OBD 2 code reader to extinguish the EML periodically ( about £15 off e-bay )

1.8 TDCI has a cambelt.

oh bummer. I guess i have to get that done. As no indication on my SH that it has been done.

IS this an expensive change?

It has a belt for the cam and a chain for the fuel pump. The interval is quite long though, Ford say 125,000 miles or 10 years!
