Central Locking Issue

hi guys

got a fiesta about a month ago and always had problems with the central locking.

car came with one key - the radio type

anyway got a new battery today and when fitting i noticed it rattling so took a closer look and the button to unlock the door was actually loose from the circuit board!

anyway put it back together and now doesnt work at all - great!

anyway i can still lock/unlock with key so can i just buy a new fob off ebay for example and fit my key to it and program as per the manual for this to work?
