That Was Strange!

Featured Replies

This evening I was driving home in the usual road works (moments after coming very close to having my car squashed out of it's lane and onto the pavement by some extremely old guy in an Audi saloon who could barely see where he was going!)

The traffic queued up and I had the radio on when suddenly I had the kind lady in my Fiesta system tell me...no...SHOUT at me to enter the following pin into my mobile to pair it up! It was very bizzare and I can only assume it had picked up a mobile in a car next to me or something. I had forgotten to switch on my bluetooth on my mobile so no phone was linked at the time.

Very bizarre but I'll have to make sure my bluetooth is on next time. Quite startling when you don't expect it! :)

Never had that happen to me yet Andy but I take it you are based in Leicester itself whereas I'm just a country boy; here we only have sheep and cows so unless any of them have bluetooth I guess it's pretty unlikely!! ;)

Sounds like someone was bored, saw your Bluetooth device from a car near to you and thought they would connect to it for a giggle.

Chris...

He he ive done this before.. haha its surprising when ur stuck in traffic how many cars have bluetooth...

I'd had this happen twice now and at the same spot on the seafront . . .

It happened to me again yesterday, very strange as this time I was driving along normally with no other cars (or people) around!

Bumping an old post but this is getting quite annoying now! I've found that in Leicester we have park and ride buses and they all have bluetooth on them (advertising or something, I dunno!) but every time one pulls up by the side of me it happens. Not only that but the link between my phone and the car is lost, though it does seem to come back after a few minutes.

I've not really looked in the menus, is there a way to stop it detecting new devices once mine has been paired?
