Sync Query

Featured Replies

I have been having a play this morning with my new car, 2013 zetec with the original sync on it. It says sync applications... and when I click to go into it it says none installed? What are sync applications?

They don't go on the car. They go on phone and car finds them. There aren't many. Search ford sync app catalogue. Spotify is probably most useful but unless u have a lot of data allowance on phone then no use.

Ah got you. I just found the website- so spotify and the like! I thought that this was only available on sync 2.0!

That's right, only on sync 2. 2013 will have sync 1 which is kak IMHO.

Well what are the sync applications for sync 1? Or are they there but not necessarily going to work?

There aren't any for the early sync systems I'm afraid. I think it's there for ford techs and updates.

I had the same system in my 2013 fiesta and nagged ford customer services for updates.

Personally I didn't like the early sync.

Theres sync, and sync with ap link, and sync2 on new focus. Ive got sync , and shows app settings in menu but doesnt do anything, the sync with app link is supossed to work with a handfull of apps but never seen one in operation to know if it works.

And you cant update sync to sync with applink, I have tried doing updates on sync but allways fails

Would a fiesta being built now have sync 2 on it?

No sync 2 for the fiesta yet..

The newer fiesta has sync 1.2 or something like that which has app link

Does anyone know how can I use Google Maps app on my smartphone through the Sync computer and listen to the Car radio at the same time?

i drive a 2014 Zetec and right now I can hear Google Maps through the car if I am on "Media" on my car computer but if I have the radio on my google maps doesnt override it and it is totally silent so I cant hear the directions.
