Morning folks looking for some advice so bear with me here ...

Got a 2005 streetka 1.6. and i cant get the bugger to start. I recently ran out of fuel (by accident) my light didnt come on or if it did i didnt see it and its run like an utter dog since its had the fuel checked new fuel filter new plugs and leads and ignition pack but makes no difference. I can just about get it to start but even on tick over its chuggy it will stay running for max a minute then die if you try and rev it and it dies. I took the time to remove the idle control valve it was covered in crap so cleaned it and put it back and its stayed the same.

I had it plugged into a diagnostic and no fault codes are present also had injectors ecu checked all fine im stumped with no codes showing i dunno what to try next i dont wanna throw money into it changing things that might not need changing any advice would be fab

Thanks Em

have you checked the sender unit?

No not checked it im a girl and having learn as i go lol can you explain where to find it or what it looks like ?? I have checked the safety cut off thats not tripped and also all fuses are fine none have blown would this unit have shown on a diagnostics ??

Just had a message back from one of the mechanics and the unit was chrcked and was fine back to square 1

If you are getting fuel and spark my next port of call would be the crank sensor, take it out to check condition and clean it, if runs ok teprorarily replace it, or if looks fooled replace it anyway, check fuel pressure, try another key, as immobiliser may be playing up

Damned auto check on phone lol

I only have the 1 key for it :(
