Idiots, They Walk Among Us...

Featured Replies

Whilst doing my usual news-reading on the internet tonight I came across this sad and very disturbing article of an 11 month old infant who died after the grandparents "forgot" to take him in from the car after coming home from church.

Yes, this is in America but none of us can say that it wouldn't happen here in the UK.

I know we have reached a stage where our smart watches can tell us we have forgotten our mobile phones and our cars remind us to fasten our seatbelts, but surely to God you would not need a reminder to take a baby in from your vehicle? Oh, but they had "other things on their minds", so that's OK then? Just like leaving a bag of shopping in the boot!

What makes this worse is that the parent's actions do not at all seem... How can I say, normal.

Firstly, they go to a restaurant the day after the "accident" and have to leave because the next table seated a family with a baby celebrating its 1st birthday. OK, but why are you in a restaurant the day after your child has died?

Secondly, and the thing that really got me was that they set up a Go Fund Me page, which I believe reached the target (just shows how many gullible people there are willing to give money) and now another one has been set up for further "expenses".

Maybe I'm being cold-hearted here, but this whole thing screams of "my child died because my parents are mindless imbeciles, can I have some money please?".

Let me know your opinions on this.

havent heard of this story, but I agree with you, there behaviour is certainly uncharacteristic of a family losing a child. God forbid I ever have to suffer this, and I prey I never do! but as it stands I could say for certainty I would be struck with grief and unable to do a thing for weeks after, I couldnt see myself leaving the house or eating as a bare minimum!

Probably swung by kfc drive through on the way home and each figured their 400lbs behinds wouldn't get their fair share if they didn't get inside quick enough!

And Yeh, expenses?!?! Your baby died, might sound blunt but other than funeral services what have you got to pay for? Trauma counselling because you're an idiot?

Unfortunately common sense is no longer very common

Very true, I think it should be renamed "abnormal sense"!

Unbelievable... how the hell can you go to a restaurant the day after your child dies... something ain't right? you don't forget about a kiddie in a car, I'd like to know exactly what was on their minds to put all thoughts about the kiddie and his/her welfare out the door with the garbage!!!..unbelievably they set up a " please give me some dollars to help me grieve" they should be so ashamed of themselves, proffitting out of a dead kiddie, discusting!!

Some form of fast food and an American sport?

mother should be in jail for child neglect wonder if social service are involved in the case

Air heads, or woodentops as I prefer to call them, are all too prevalent - I'm sure they are an alien species
