Advantages Of Hardwired Dashcam

Featured Replies

What are they apart from the obvious not having to connect each and every time you get in/ out the car.

t to ask a stupid question, does hardwiring mean I'm unable to easily remove the cam when I park up?

It's a mobius

no you can still remove it. It just leaves the connection wire behind being hard wired

mean you don't forget to switch it on when driving

With a Mobius you can just unplug the mini USB at the back when you want to take it out of the car. You can also set it up to turn on and start recording automatically when you turn on the ignition - though you'd probably want to replace the battery with a supercapacitor as the Li battery won't like the continuous charging cycles. It'll also record for a short while after you turn the ignition off.

I'm currently setting up a hardwired Mobius myself :)

I currently have this setup including the super capacitor.

Works fine, no worrying about battery or having to turn it on/off - just works while ignitions on. 😊

its definitely advangtageous to hard wire, it also stops wires trailing everywhere (like when you plug into the 12v socket and trail the cable to the sat nav!)
