Security Question

Hi

Having read in the news many times about how thieves target key-less cars by intercepting the transmission and then gaining access to the car.

I read that should a keyless entry car owner find that for example when arriving at a shopping centre they try and lock the car and it fails to lock but then will lock on the next attempt then the best advice is to get in their car and leave, well this happened to me last week, but outside my home, it took a further two attempts before I could get my car to lock, within a few minutes of it locking a number of unsavory charters walked by.

In this case we moved my wifes car (and old Y reg) directly behind so my car was effectively wedged in, then the following day I took my car to my parents, and its stayed there since for now.

Is there anything I should be worried about? My car is going in for service on Saturday at Ford, is this anything I should mention to them? Any advice is appreciated

Remove the OBD port fuse as a precaution & invest in some seriously good mechanical theft deterrents such as a disklok or similar
