Usb/bluetooth Module

Featured Replies

Hi,

My USB in the fiesta has always had issues from pretty much when I had it, from freezing to not recognising the USB.

Usually to fix the issue, disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting would sort itself out.

Well today, it's had enough it won't work at all.

Pressing the AUX button on the dash - does nothing

Pressing the bluetooth button on the LH stalk - does nothing

I had a quick search on the forum, and people are pointing towards the USB module, after a quick google/youtube, I found this video

Edit;

Found one on a ford parts website

http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_mobile_phone_bluetooth_voice_control_interface_module___f_1806653_c_460.htm

After removing the cables and then re-fitting, the AUX button now changes the screen to (LINE-IN), it recognises that the USB stick is being inserted and removed although won't bring up the option to play any of it. The USB is working in the slot as it is flashing.

The bluetooth doesn't work at all, it recognises the phone + contents of phone book although upon dialing it won't connect to the phone at all.

My feeling is the module is knackered and requires replacing.

Has anyone come across buying one from ebay for example?

Thanks

Could be an issue with the Display screen (that controls everything and everything goes through that). I had various issues such as voice activation and steering wheel controls not working and disconnecting the display screen and reconnecting it fixed all of these problems. You would have thought disconnecting the battery would achieve the same thing but it didn't.

I'd suggest disconnecting the screen and reconnecting it to see if that fixes it. Only takes 5-10mins to do. The panel over the screen just unclips from the back, there are 2 clips in the back, each corner and also in the middle, pull gently from the back and it should come up for you, then there's just 2 screws holding the screen in place, unscrew those and then disconnect the cable going into the back of the screen, leave it for about 30 seconds then plug it back in.

Worked for me so may be worth a try for you

Try pulling the display, Bluetooth and radio fuses. Wait a good few seconds and then put them back.

Shouldn't fix it as you've tried disconnecting the battery which should have the same affect, but worth a shot.

Hi.

Tried pulling fuses. No effect

Plugged the module into another fiesta with the same module and it worked fine.

Plugged that fiestas module in my car and it didnt work. So possibly a wiring fault?

The usb initialises but sticks on line in active.

Any ideas?

If a working module does not work in your car then I'd say its a Display Screen fault. The screen is basically the control center for it all, nothing would work without that screen so i'd say that's what you want to look at.

Unfortunately the display screens aren't cheap if I remember correctly, you might be able to pull one off a fietsa in a scrap yard

After faffing around for ages. Disconnected the battery left it for 10mins and connected it up and it works.

Surely the fuses would have had the same effect....

Ahh I thought you'd already tried the battery haha. It's weird because I thought the same about the fuses. When my module messed up i'd pulled the battery for 10mins, pulled the module and pulled the fuses for stuff and it didn't fix but pulling the screen did fix. I had the same thoughts, pulling the fuses would just be the same as pulling the battery and equipment. Turns out we were wrog haha

Glad its all sorted for you
