Is Your Old Car Still Alive? Find Out Here

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere on here. Thought someone might find it interesting. I just saw this website where you can see the MOT history of your car, including details of what it failed on. Luckily my new Focus has an impeccable history which is a great relief.

My old MK1 Focus though seems to have been severely mis-treated since I sold it. The current owners appear to be wrecking it. The list of MOT fails were as long as my arm, bit sad really.

And my old Citroen C2 looks as though it had been in some kind of accident before I bought it. Both rear wheels buckled, coolant leaks, pitted front discs. play in the suspension, not enough travel in the suspension, parking brake not working, drivers window not opening the list goes on...

No wonder they sold it to me with no paperwork.

Yes I was investigating that site yesterday. Seems all our old cars that I know the reg of (apart from one) are still going. My mum was very pleased to hear her old Alfa Romeo is still going three years after we sold it, it's only doing 3k a year!

ive used it allot to see about my old cars / bikes not many of mine are still going but its good to find out

I just need a website to remind me of the cars i've owned! :D

So annoying I was trying to remember vehicle registrations from years back which would be coming to end of life and can't :(

I was so glad to see that this service is now public. It proves that the Fiesta was MOTd at the time of being scrapped, so it obviously wasn't an MOT-failure but rather done out of choice or it was written off...

Looks like most of my old cars weren't looked after very well. Lots of failures and advisories. One thing though the last two mot's of the MK3 Escort with mileage registered at 18k miles lol :D

Very interesting. I checked my last Fiesta and it did over 10k miles in the year after I sold it, and passed it's next MOT with no warnings :). I sold it to We Buy Any Car so no idea who ended up with it, but hopefully they are happy with it.

The infornation is instantaneous, as soon as mot done it shows up in seconds

Indeed. That's how I always find my MOT results before the mechanic has a chance to call and break the news!

Looked at one of my dad's old cars- we got rid with 60k miles, by 2012 it had 80k. When it went in in 2013 it had 20k. Hmm. One of our old KAs is still going strong though. Some others were last seen with an MOT pass years ago so I assume that means they are written off or scrapped.

Just checked mine, my first motor seems to no longer be MOT'd :(

Then checked the Fiesta, and she is still going strong! an additional 75k miles

All my other cars are still going strong, the CMAX just failed an MOT (got rid at the right time it would seem!)

The focus is still going and Mindel seems to have been pitted with small failures, such as bulbs mainly!
