Clocks Change

Featured Replies

I was told when I picked my car up that the car would always change the time depening on BST etc, granted I didnt drive my car yest but today the time hasnt changed. Do they update automatically? Or not?

Well mine didn't despite being connected to my phone. There's no date setting so assuming it doesn't know the date it can't change automatically however as a new fiesta owner I did expect it to change by reading my phone time.

Fiestas with sync do have a facility to alter the date & time - settings are in the menu

Had to do mine myself,

Was on motorway and had to pull over to do it because the menu isint accessible while driving 😩

I shall try and find that all I could find was time using the clock button on the Sony radio

That's terrible news 😠

suppose Vauxhall have the auto time update feature as standard in the corsa to ensure there chavvy drivers never miss signing on time in the benefits office in order to be capable of paying Vauxhall the finance 😀 win/win

Poxhall auto destruct countdown timer . . . . . :)

My Mondeo TXS updated the time itself - how I do not know - but it did :)

Will check the Focus & see if that did too

My Focus can stop itself, start itself and steer itself, but can't manage to change its clock for the end of BST, LOL!

Just checked our Focus & it didn't - now I'm puzzled as to how the Mondeo did ?

I'll have to check mine later, not sure if it changed the time or not. I know it can set the time automatically from the GPS, but whether it knows about time zones / daylight savings I don't know. If it doesn't move its clock back, I know there's a setting to tell it whether or not it's in daylight savings.

Had to change mine this morning, forgot that you had to use the radio as the year on the dashboard menu only Allows you to change up to 2013!

I had to change mine manually as well (fiesta eco boost 2014) used to that though as had to do the same on previous car (grand c max).

Come on Ford most the other manufacturers have realised its a doddle with RDS radios.

I was right, it didn't know it was in daylight savings. There was just an option to disable which I think was called "Summertime", did that while stuck in traffic and it was instantly correct :)

I find if you leave it long enough, it adjusts it's self back to as it was before ^_^

Most car radios will auto adjust their time settings using the RDS or DAB signals

If RDS is switched off in the radio menu or no DAB then this won't happen.

I think I have my answer as to why the Mondeo updated itself & the Focus didn't - as posted above by Clive :)

My kitchen radio is DAB and is still showing the wrong time but that's because I haven't turned it on from stand-by yet ;)

where do you find out if RDS is being used?

2015 titanium X with dab but had to change it manually. Don't think the fiesta has the clock auto update except those with satnav.

Im definitely sure it's satnav only cars that auto update

Must update via the GPS I guess ?

Must update via the GPS I guess ?

Exactly

The Sync 2 system has 2 different levels of gps.

One is for lat/long so that the Emergency Assistance system works and the other is when the nav module is fitted for full satnav functions.

My Sync 2 is level 1 and it still auto updated the time.

All gps signals incorporate a dtg signal, it's just whether the receiving device is set to utilise it.
