Catalytic Converter Location - Mk7.5 Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I need some advice for a friend of mice, who owns the 100ps fiesta. He is adamant that something is wrong with his cat, and wants to know the location so asked me. I said that I wasn't overly sure but I would ask and find out for him

Could someone please let me know where the location of the cat is please, pictures would be great :)

Thanks!

Why is he adamant it's a fault with tha cat itself, is he getting fault codes? As these could be the sensor related or something completely different?

This is a decat down pipe the cat would be near the flexi section

No, the cats in the background. Looks like a tabby.

cats opposite end to flexi section.cat is located right next to manifold.

In all honesty, I'm not sure why he thinks its his cat at fault, all I know is that he is certain that his cat is at fault for something, god knows what aha - wasn't very informative when we spoke over the phone

Would he be able to see the cat from the engine bay, or would he need to have the car in the air for this?

I shall ask why he wants to know and try and get some more information from him, as like you said this could be something totally different

As previously mentioned, can you see the cat from the engine bay or do you have to get under the car?

Thanks

You might be able to see the top of the cat under the metal heat shield at the front of the engine (it has a sensor coming out of the heatshield).

Cheers for that, I still haven't managed to figure out why he is adamant that it's his cat but at least I can let him know now

Thanks for all your help, I'm no good at this stuff aha so thank you :)
