Electrical Issues Focus Mk2 2007 1.8

Featured Replies

Hi guys, changed my fan blower resister and the radio (Chinese drain the battery one). The battery went flat so I jumped it and the following problems have arisen:

- front electric windows don't work

- reverse light isn't working

- rear wiper not working

- front and back washer jets not working

- heated windscreen stuck on

Its a focus 2007 1.8 Zetec Climate

At least I can use my fan now I guess XD

Have you checked the fuse box under the glove comp and made sure all connectors are secure?

  • Author

Yeah, the connectors appear to be secured in ok

I don't know about much about Fords (yet!), but my last car, an '02 Polo, had additional fuses in the battery cover. Could one of these gone?

I'll give them a check over tomorrow morning

well thats at least 3 seperate circuits without power and probably a blown relay for htd. windscreen.....

so you've either got multiple duff fuses or the jump start caused software / control issues.

ok, ill be looking at the fuses at lunch break, Ive just read the errors codes off and this one: Code: B2094 - Heated Windshield Circuit Short to Battery (apart from battery voltage low warnings that weren't set at the time of reading)

Where did you attach the jump leads to on your vehicle ?

Jump starting is not as simple as it used to be & often causes excess amperage - which often fries various circuits' fuses & relays

I attached live to the live on the battery and then the ground to the ground on the strut tower

all sorted... dad had put the fuse for the ignition / relays (F25) into the headlamp washer (F23)... such a silly mistake, very happy it was that though!! Thanks for all your responses guys!

I have a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6l Duratec Station wagon. I am, having these exact same issues, although nothing has changed or been done to the car that should cause this issue, the last thing i did before I noticed this issue was the day before I had changed the headlights. All fuses are good and original, the relays are also good but I replaced the GEM just to verify it was nothing internal. I still have this issue. The only additonal issue I am having that you did not mention is the relays click and the front wipers randomly go on. All the wiring looks good. Fuses are good, GEM is replaced. I run scans with Forscan and get

B2094 Heated Windshield Circuit Short to Battery

and

B2258 Headlamp Washer Relay Circuit Short to Battery

Additional info, but not sure if relevant, a cows lead ripped the bottom part of my front bumper off, but there is no additional damage

Only 9 years after this thread died 🤣

The original post was a 1.8 TDCi and you have a 1.6 Duratec, well I guess they are both engines 😂

I had a reply but somehow it got reset. But, yea, it is hilarious. So stupid but still funny. The famer should have never had the calf across the road like that. I face planted the calf into the ground as I ran over the lead though jaja. Of course — I went and pet her made sure she was alright. but damn I was *****. Now I need to find this part and make my car look good

So, got it figured out, somehow a fuse was missing in the engine bay fuse box. Not sure how that happened or where it went and when, but, got it all fixed.

You do realise this is a 10 year old thread? 😁
