A Few Electrical Difficulties, Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hey guys! How are you doing?

Only been driving a few weeks, theres a few little things that need fixing on my ford fiesta 1.4 54 plate.

1. Cigarette lighter not working? Need help as wanting a sat nav!

2. Air blower only works on number 4, new resistor needed possibly?

3. Engine maintenance light. Plugged into diagnostics and apparently its an oxygen sensor, it went off but is now back on. An issue?

All help and advice is very much appreciated.

Any diagram of the fuses and what they are? It may be a blown fuse for my cigarette lighter.

Thanks again!

Chris

1.) Check the fuse. There should be a diagram behind the glove box. If not, I'll send you a picture of mine. I suggest buying "blow & glow" fuses for the future.

2.) Yes, New resistor pack is needed. Its a common fault on the fiesta. Check/change the pollen filter at the same Time to improve airflow to the resistor pack.

3.) Sensor has failed/is failing. OR wiring issue.

Any other questions let me know :)

Hey, send me a picture of your fuse diagram please. Also, where is the pollen filter? Blow and glow fuses sound useful

THANKS!

My girlfriend has the car for now so you may be waiting a day or two.

The pollen filter is in the passenger footwell behind the trim, inside a rectangular hatch secured with screws.

Brilliant, I look forward to the diagram. I've found the fuses, awesome thanks. I shall have a root for the pollen filter tomorrow, do I find the resistor there aswell?

I have the car tonight so will get a picture.

The resistor pack is in the driver footwell tucked away behind the dash! It has a grey electrical connector coming out of it
