Head Lights

Featured Replies

Looking for some help,

My head lights on focus 63 plate come on automatic so I can't use high beam or fog lights

Thx jim

High beam is indicator stalk.

Pull to flash high beam, push forward to put on continuously.

Fog light switches are next to the headlight control dial (left side).

Yes I know you need to push the stalk to work high beam, but I don't even need to turn the headlights on and the still come on,I used to have to turn the lights on for them to work but I don't have to do this now,

Even the switch for the lights does not even light up now

B4 the lights had to turned on manually now the just come on,can't use high beam or fog lights

You don't have to have them on Auto if you don't want, it still has manual controls for the dipped beams and sidelights.

High beam and fog lights work like before, if the headlights are on just push the buttons or pull the stalk.

If it is not working, take it back to the dealer as clearly there must be a fault.

Ok thanks for that, think I will need to do that,

I don't have an auto switch

A is Off, B is Sidelights, C is dipped beam.

Then the icon to the right of C with an A in it, is the Automatic dipped beam setting...

What version is your Focus? Zetec, Titanium, etc?

  • Author

It's an ecoboost 63 plate

Yeah but what is the trim level?

Are you sure you are supposed to have auto lights? They are only standard on Titanium and higher, option on lower models.

  • Author

No not auto lights

Just basic model I think

it's DLR daylight running lights you have, when your running car front lights on permanent and rears not on,main beam and fogs wont work unless you turn your lights on manually.

  • Author

Yes they are

They never used to do this until about 2weeks ago then this problem

No all back lights on as well

Sounds like an electrical fault then, do they stay on when you get out the car?

  • Author

No they don't,as soon as I turn the ignition off they go off

And your sure you don't have auto lights that you just haven't used before?

Do they come on during the day?

  • Author

Yes I am sure

Yes all the time I start the engine they come on

Very strange, sounds like an electrical fault then.

You should still be under warranty so I'd get it back to a Ford dealer.
