Football England

Featured Replies

see England are back to normal , can win playing 2/3 class teams , but against top teams back to losing , make me wonder how many goals bobby charlton would have scored ,playing against them a lot more then rooney

So we're not going to win the Euros next year then?

I don't bother watching them anymore, rather watch grass grow. Despite being a massive Man Utd fan and have been numerous times, so I'm not an armchair fan, I hate Rooney, he's as much use as rubber lips on a woodpecker. Couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo for club or country. Oh don't get me wrong, against the minnows, he does turn up but get anyone better than say Aston Villa or the country equivalent and he's naff

Is not Wayne Rooney England's record holding top goal scorer, who recently eclipsed Sir Bobby Charlton ?

England have only ever had two world class teams & that was in 1966 & 1990 i.m.o.

To have only ever won 1 trophy says it all.

Im actually a fan of Rooney. I think he was a great player and still think he is a class player.

1 more goal to add to his record breaking international tally last night

Yes Rooney is England top scorer but he's also played more games for England than Sir Bobby. Rooney has played 109 appearances(ongoing) and scored 51 goals, Sir Bobby has done 106 appearances & 49 goals. I think we can all agree football was a lot more difficult back then. I'm just not a fan of Rooney, used to be but I'm not anymore, to be honest I'm going off football all together, go and watch my partners twin sisters play on a weekend and that's it. To much money in it now

That's sadly true . . it now is & has been for some time, more of a business with way too much money involved

for the people who can remember ,can you see rooney playing against the like off nobby stiles , norman (bite your legs) hunter and jack charton don't think he would get a kick

Ron Chopper Harris would have had fun with him & so would Tommy Smith . . . . ahh the days of real footballers :)

yes forget about them some great players back then and no rounding around on the ground it was a man game , not a pansy game
