Newish Focus Tricks And Traits

Featured Replies

My husband is now looking for a newer car, not brand new, in fact as cheap a run around as possible.

I wondered if any of you chaps and chapesses could tell me what traits a focus could be suffering from and how to look for a decent motor?

It's going to be a petrol focus, like this sort of Shape http://www.bristolstreet.co.uk/used-car/1136755/ford-focus-1-6-125-zetec-5dr-petrol-hatchback/

Like the mk3 petrol MONDEO had its issues with butterfly valves is there anything these suffer with? Likely looking at 2011 and newer models

Some early Mk3's have issues with the DCT (auto) transmission, in case you are considering going that route.

Not much goes wrong on petrol mk3, seem fairly good so far, stop start issues, clutches sometimes, couple on here have had water leaks into the boot, 1.0 ecoboost had coolant pipe leaks , but they should all had new pipes by now.
